This is my twelfth year teaching at Maryville Elementary, eleven of those years have been as a Special Education Resource teacher. I graduated from Bellarmine University with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education LBD in 2007. In 2013 I completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Western Kentucky University.
I enjoy working with the staff and students at Maryville, and I am excited for another school year filled with growth and many successes. In my classroom I primarily work on math skills, this ranges from number identification and counting to multiple step word problems, multiplication, and division. Math has always been my favorite subject in school and I hope that I can help my students enjoy and have fun with math.
I currently live in Shepherdsville with my two kids and three cats. I have two wonderful children, Charlotte, 5, and Evan, 8. They make each day exciting and adventurous! It is very exciting to have them both be a part of the Maryville family with me. We also have two amazing and cuddly kittens that are around 5 months old now, their names are WIllow and Huxley, along with our 1 year old cat, Boug.
In my free time I enjoy running, crafting, and doing all kinds of puzzles, especially ones that involve math! Colorado holds a special place in my heart. I love to visit there as much as I can, and feel blessed to have been able to share this wonderful state with my children. My first visit to Colorado was following my graduation from Bellarmine, four classmates and myself spent a month volunteering at WindWalkers, which is an equine therapy ranch, along with one of our professors.
